The position is part time and on an as-needed basis. The Heavy Equipment Operators will have responsibilities that include maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy work environment,  prepare heavy equipment by conducting equipment inspections and performing preventive maintenance checks, and, preparing work by studying and clarifying instructions and diagrams along with calculating requirements and gathering supplies.  Work is primarily in Pennsylvania, but may include long-term travel throughout the United States. We require a High School Diploma or equivalent and experience running typical heavy equipment found common to environmental construction projects, such as excavator/track-hoe, bulldozer, backhoe, wheel/track loader, skid steer, grader, and roller.  We require a valid Driver's License in good standing.  Possession of a current CDL is preferred.  The ideal candidate will have an OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER certification and an OSHA 10 hour or 30 hour Construction Industry Outreach certification and required annual refresher certifications, as applicable.  Equipment operators that do not have an OSHA 40 hour HAZWOPER and an OSHA 10 hour or 30 hour Construction Industry Outreach certification must be willing to obtain them.  This position requires the ability to life and/or move up to 50 pounds.   Tetra Tech is an equal opportunity employer.

I understand getting dirty on the job, but a continuing good appearance earns extra points with me. A CDL-A with air brake endorsement would be nice, but is not a requirement of this position. We do private work, and rate work as well. You may get either, or both depending on where you are needed at the time. I have work to start, and more work pending.
