Job Title: Heavy Equipment Operator Company: Location: Dayton, OH Description: Position Tasks & Activities: ? Greet customers upon arrival. Be professional and helpful with customer. ? Familiarize/educate customers on equipment lines that would fulfill their project needs. ? Check rental contracts to be sure the correct equipment goes out. ? Prep equipment, check fluids, and test operation of equipment before loading. ? Prepare & assist customers with loading equipment. ? Transport equipment back-and-forth when front displays are being used. ? Clean and service equipment upon return and transport to ready line and/or notify others of failed inspection. ? Make minor/preventative repairs to equipment. ? Record service records on appropriate service forms. Documentation correctness is important. ? Clean and service equipment according to company procedure. Maintain all decals, safety warnings, and company ID stickers. Refill fluid levels. Hit grease fittings. ? Follow cleaning procedures, which may include use of pressure washers, chemicals, commercial vacuum, and compressed air. ? Instruct customers in proper uses of equipment, demonstrating usage upon request, and showing safety features for each piece of equipment. ? Fill propane cylinders. ? Load/Unload equipment. ? Maintain assigned service tool cart. Keep cart stocked with required inventory. ? Secure loaded equipment per company procedure and inspect in transit if necessary. ? Maintain a clean and professional work appearance. ? Keep work stations clean and stocked with all necessary items. Keep yard, service area, dock, and warehouse all cleaned and organized. ? Delivery/Pick up equipment/supplies as requested. ? Check equipment for damage, hours, cleanliness, and service intervals upon rental return. ? Check reservation to insure equipment is ready for customer upon equipment. ? Keep equipment organized. ? Immediately report any/all safety violations to your supervisor. ? Adhere to all company policies, procedures, rules and regulations in written or verbal form. ? Comply with all government safety requirements and other regulations and security in store. ? Attend departmental, store and safety meetings. ? Complete assigned duties given from daily checklists. ? Must demonstrate unmatched customer service?everyday. ? Perform other duties as requested by a supervisor. Education, Skills & Requirements ? A high school diploma or equivalent GED is preferred but not required. ? Must be able to lift a minimum of 70lbs. ? Must have and maintain a valid driver?s license and reliable transportation to/from work. ? Must be willing to work a rotating schedule that can change from week-to-week. ? Must possess customer relations skills. ? Must be comfortable with using a computer for some tasks. ? Must maintain a professional personal appearance ? Must be able to use mathematics to solve problems. ? Must speak English clearly and write legibly. The ability to speak other languages is a plus. ? Must pass pre-employment and ongoing random company drug screens. ? Must maintain an acceptable attendance record ? Must have full range of motion and dexterity. ? Must be able to understand and complete instructions furnished in written, oral, or scheduled form. ? Maintain a cooperative working relationship with teammates. ?
