Job Title: Welder Company: Kinder Morgan Location: Mountain View, OK Description: PRIMARY PURPOSE:• Perform and inspect pipeline and structural welding required for construction and maintenance of Company facilities including the installation, operation and maintenance of all gas and liquid pipeline related facilities.Essential duties and responsibilities:• Perform and inspect welding operations on pipeline, piping systems, well equipment, tools, support structures and other equipment• Layout, cut, fit and otherwise prepare material for welding • Fabricate material from piping schematics and other drawings • Work from blueprints, sketches or verbal instructions • Start, stop and operate engines/pumps within defined operating parameters. • Plan and coordinate pipeline shutouts involving hot and cold welding• Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed• Oversee the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties• Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns• Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork • Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory and tariff requirements • Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence• Actively participate in safety programs and initiatives. • Participate in the development of O&M Procedures, Site Specific • Procedures, project scopes and work plans.• Other duties as assigned. Position Requirements Education:• High School Diploma or GEDExperience / specific knowledge:• May be required to possess a commercial driver’s license, drive a company commercial vehicle and comply with all commercial vehicle regulations • Must respond to, and address, callouts and emergencies during and after regular business hours including after dark hours, which may require carrying a communication device (24 hours/day, 7 days/week )• Be available for shift work when applicable.• Extensive travel may be required.• Job planning and organizationCertifications, licenses, registrations:• Valid Driver's license• Applicable company and regulatory welding certifications• Need to pass API 1104 multiple qualification tests and low hydrogen split sleeve test• Achieve and maintain all OQ qualifications and progression requirements applicable to the job classification.Competencies, skills, and abilities:• Basic computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, operating systems, company software)• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals) • Good verbal and written communication skills• Customer focus• Ability to work with a team, take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow work rules Working conditions: • Work in low-lit areas within the buildings/stations• Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditionsPreferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge• Operate micrometers, calipers, and thickness testing equipment• Knowledge of basic properties of metals• Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids and high pressure systems• Knowledge of company policies and practices, and regulatory and tariff requirements • Knowledge of compressor or pump station and transmission pipeline systems operations.• Knowledge of the Oklahoma welding Laws
