Job Title: Sheet Metal Worker/Pipefitter Company: Norfolk Southern Location: Chattanooga, TN Description: The type of work requires that the sheet metal workers and pipefitters have experience in sheet-metal work and pipe work as it applies to buildings, machinery, locomotives, etc. They may be required to work with tin, sheet iron, or sheet copper; and must be capable of bending, fitting, and brazing of pipe. Sheet Metal Workers/Pipefitters must be able to operate various machine tools and equipment associated with this work. Welding may also be a part of the job. Sheet Metal Workers/Pipefitters will also be involved in the rebuilding of locomotives and mechanical component parts as well as the maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities. Sheet Metal Workers/Pipefitters are subject to working various shifts with the possibility of rest days being scheduled on non-weekend days. They may be subject to working overtime that would be paid at the overtime rate.
