Job Title: Sheet Metal Mechanic Aircraft Company: Location: Douglas, OK Description:  The purpose of this position is to independently plan, layout, overhaul, modify, repair, assemble, and install complex aircraft primary structural sheet metal components and assemblies that have combined straight and curved edges or numerous and irregular planes, such as engine struts, cowlings, nacelle fairings, and other similar components.  Examines aircraft items such as aircraft frames, bulkheads, spar chords, trunnions, production brake castings, longerons, skins, spars, ribs, etc. and determines the type and extent of repairs needed, makes required repairs, and installs on aircraft.  Uses complex measuring instruments, hand, power, and pneumatic tools and machines.  Enters information in computer terminals to maintain records and document actions.  Work is performed on day, swing, or graveyard shifts.
