Job Title: Sheet Metal Mechanic Company: Location: Montgomery, AL Description: Performs fabrication, modification, repair, assembly, and installation of sheet metal parts, items and assemblies utilized on aircraft and AGE equipment. Performs corrosion treatment and paint duties on aircraft and AGE equipment. Examines aircraft sheet metal structures to locate cracks, breaks, holes, bulges, dents and loose or missing rivets. Determines repairs needed to restore original strength to components e.g. frames, stringers, bulkheads, spars, ribs, and stiffeners. Reinforces damage or weaken skins on structural members. Mixes, blends, thins, and applies paints and coating of all types using brushes, spray guns and associated equipment. Prepares surface areas and components for stripping and paint and/or coating application by masking, wrapping or otherwise preparing to prevent oversprays or chemical damage to serviceable components or other surface areas. Performs other related duties as required.
